Vegetation areas well positioned in urban territories can give a significant reduction to manmade pollutant loads in cities and at the same time mitigate the use of energy for heating and cooling. Mankind makes significant changes to all areas where we operate, and every action has an impact on the surrounding environment. From building construction point of view , we attempt to recreate natural landscapes to mitigate the impact of anthropogenic elements to the territory. Environmental mitigation can be therefore achieved through the selection and use of several techniques available. Garden roofs and vertical garden improve the integration of buildings with the surrounding natural environment, reducing the phenomenon of "heat islands" , the well known increase in temperature which appears in presence of heavily built-up areas without the presence of green , when passing from the outer areas of the city to the inner areas of the same.
Restag also applies in their design the results of studies conducted by NASA to improve air quality in the apartments, with the abatement of formaldehyde, benzene and trichlorethylene from the air in enclosed environments, thanks to the use of certain plants.
